Five Employees Join Simantel Team
April 2011—Simantel is enhancing its creative capabilities in art direction, digital media and video production with the recent addition of several employees. Also joining the firm is a new Human Resources manager.
Creative Service
Chip Joyce, Video Production Coordinator. Chip holds a bachelor's in theater/cinema studies from Illinois State University and studied theater and film at Columbia College in Chicago. He previously worked at Jupitermedia and has served as an adjunct faculty member at Illinois Central College. Chip was heavily involved in the local Art Works campaign, and he devotes time to several creative/artistic companies. With his experience in directing, performing and scene design, he will work to develop and coordinate video productions.
David Martin, Digital Producer. David graduated from Bradley University, where he majored in computer information systems and minored in multimedia design. He previously worked as a senior software architect at MultiAd, where he also developed and designed B2B solutions for large companies. David is an active contributor to several open source projects, including Yahoo's YUI JavaScript library. He will oversee the development of online and digital projects at Simantel.
Dave Rawlins, Art Director. Dave graduated from Western Illinois University as the Graphic Communication Departmental Scholar. He began his career as a designer/art director at a marketing firm in 2006, where he set the tone for multiple local and national campaigns with print, interactive and video. He will work collaboratively with Simantel's team to develop and execute creative concepts for clients. Dave is active at his church and in the community; he teaches guitar lessons at an area mission.
Derek Thompson, Senior Art Director. Derek earned a bachelor's in graphic design from Illinois State University. He has extensive experience in corporate marketing communications, from print design to website programming. He previously owned his own design studio. At Simantel, he will develop creative concepts that deliver on strategy. In his spare time Derek volunteers for a community cancer center, helping to maintain the organization's website.
Operations
Tanya Simpson, HR/Operations Manager. Tanya comes to Simantel from the Unland Companies, where she worked as account manager/benefits coordinator. Previously, she served as vice president of HR at the Association for the Developmentally Disabled of Woodford County. She graduated summa cum laude from Midstate College, where she now teaches business courses as an adjunct faculty member. Tanya is involved with Special Olympics Illinois and mentors families of children with hearing impairment/loss. At Simantel, she will oversee human resources and network functions.
