Simantel is looking for a full-time Account Planner (AP). The AP is instrumental in ensuring teams are using effective storytelling to convey our ideas, using sound rationale and helping to consistently balance both the client and target audience needs on all efforts.


The AP is responsible for maintaining day-to-day contact between the agency and the client; managing and owning the strategy for assigned accounts; fostering and growing assigned accounts; and ensuring overall client satisfaction.  

The AP serves as a champion for identifying insights, collaborating on ideas, and connecting dots throughout the lifecycle of an account. They understand Simantel’s approach to marketing communication strategy, helping teams bring value to clients by identifying where our offerings align to the clients’ marketing-communication & branding needs.


The AP has responsibility to support agency & client business and marketing objectives by:

Serving as the key subject matter expert for assigned accounts, requiring ongoing analysis of the industry, client’s business, product offerings and customer base
 Completing stakeholder research (primary and secondary) and summarizing into key insights, with support from the agency insights & analytics teams and other strategy resources
Serving as the day-to-day liaison between the client and the agency for all approvals and status updates, including proactive communication and documentation across all accounts
Facilitating efficient, high-impact meetings and discussions both internally and with the client teams to support overall business objectives
Supporting resource management through proactive communication with leadership & management teams on resource needs for assigned accounts
Taking a lead role in building strategic deliverables (presentations, insights summaries, communications plans) and understanding/ensuring connectivity across all Simantel digital service lines to provide the best cross-channel experiences for clients
Staying abreast of digital and traditional marketing trends and evolution of agency capabilities to effectively guide clients to the most effective solutions Simantel has to offer
Forecasting client budgets and plan/estimate project scopes

Proactive and takes initiative to identify client needs and opportunities
Excels at relationship-building, exhibits collaboration that effectively influences targeted, efficient conversations internally and with client
Organized, with strong communication skills (both written and oral)
Naturally curious, willing to “dig in” when required and see a project from start to finish
Effective facilitator and presenter
Strategic-thinker and creative problem-solver, ability to organize information quickly and set direction

Bachelor’s degree in marketing (or similar concentration) required
Account management experience in an agency or other related environment considered a plus
Three to five years of experience required
