Vision Realized in Mining

At MINExpo 2008, Caterpillar outlined its mining technology vision for the future and showed how the company planned to bring its technology products to the forefront of mining operations. Over the next few years, Caterpillar worked with Simantel to expand on that vision—and build an identity and platform for the industry’s broadest suit of mining technology products, Cat^®MineStar^TMSystem.

At MINExpo 2012, Caterpillar had to show the industry how Cat MineStar System would meet customer’s unique needs—and pay off Caterpillar’s vision from 2008. Simantel worked closely with Caterpillar to integrate Cat MineStar System into the MINExpo exhibit in a way that showed attendees how technology could strengthen their operation through safety, productivity and automation. Each of the five capability sets for Cat MineStar System (Fleet, Terrain, Detect, Heath and Command) was included throughout the surface and underground areas of the Caterpillar exhibit. This allowed attendees to experience mine operations, product demonstrations, interactive applications and simulators—and hands on experiences with the entire product suite.

In addition to the exhibitory, Simantel crafted live interview segments, and a live program dedicated to technology at Cat Center Stage—a 50ft high definition screen dedicated to Caterpillar products and services. All of these elements came together on the show floor, and gave the industry an in-depth view on Caterpillar’s technology capabilities for today and the future.
