  • Van has over 13 years of experience in B2C and B2B marketing, with a special focus in branding and campaign work with a love for video and messaging
  • Guides the agency’s creative direction and fosters a culture of innovation, ensuring work is bold, resonant and even fun — while always rooted in strategy
  • Joined Simantel in 2014 in client services and built a knack for creative strategy before jumping over to copywriting, experience strategy and ultimately grew into his current role as executive creative director
  • Was a core team member on several award-winning campaigns, including a Telly Awards for the Cat® 306 CR’s Lift More Campaign, Cat CVA Crash Course Campaign and 5 MUSE Creative Awards for the Cat Dream Dozer Campaign
  • As a lifelong baseball fan, Van also hosts a national award-winning baseball podcast “Wins Above Fantasy” with over 200 episodes since its launch in 2020

Van’s love for film started in grade school, shooting movies and music videos in his basement on a VHS camcorder. That passion eventually led him to direct an indie film team that produced two feature-length low-budget films, one of which allegedly bumped “The Joker” from Theater 1 at Landmark Cinemas in Peoria. These days, while he’s traveled to nearly 25 countries, he’ll tell you his favorite adventure is the next one with his wife and young daughter.
