Along with other honors, Simantel won platinum-level 2012 MarCom Awards for our work on a pair of projects: “Don’t Shoot,” a citywide initiative to end gun violence, and “Say Thanks,” a joint effort by Caterpillar, and Mike Rowe, to salute skilled tradespeople.

Roughly 6,000 entries were received from around the globe, and we’re excited to share that all seven Simantel entries were recognized. Congrats to our clients and our co-workers!

City of Peoria
“Don’t Shoot” collateral won four platinum awards in the Video/Film/Informational, TV/PSA, Marketing Materials and Ads/Billboard categories. To date, the now award-winning overview video has received nearly 2,700 views on YouTube, which was released on Aug. 7, 2012.

Caterpillar “Say Thanks”
Teaser campaign creative materials (including the overview video, billboard and web banners) won platinum in the Marketing/Promo Campaign/Marketing Materials category. Another piece of the campaign—the “Win a Pizza Party with Mike Rowe” contest—earned gold-level honors under the same category.

Check out Caterpillar’s salute to the skilled trades, including creative for all three contests.

Rounding out the awards was our own 2011 digital holiday card, which earned gold.
