- Joined Simantel in 2023 bringing with her 37 years of marketing and communication experience both on the agency side and the brand side
- Collaborates with account and project planners to support client relationships and initiatives as well as resource allocation and workflow management
- Has extensive strategic digital marketing experience in healthcare and insurance sectors and also spent 14 years in and around state government including the Governor’s Press Office during the first 18 months of Governor Jim Edgar’s term
- As a “20-something” travelled to Ashikaga City, Tochigi, Japan as part of a delegation from the Sister City Association of Springfield, Illinois to negotiate a Sister City agreement between the two cities
- Along with a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University, Karen holds digital marketing and inbound/content marketing certifications from the American Marketing Association/Digital Marketing Institute and Hubspot in addition to a public relations accreditation through Public Relations Society of America
- When she’s not at Simantel, you can find Karen out on the water, hiking or relaxing in her “tree house” with a glass of red wine enjoying everything nature has to offer
- Lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Bears… she’s a patient and forgiving soul

Like many in Peoria, Karen grew up in a Caterpillar family. Unlike many in Peoria, she was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as her dad completed a four-year stint there with Cat.
