MAP to Move Forward

Reliability is what utility customers expect. When they flip the switch, they want the power to come on. Seems simple, right? But with all the increasing demands on our electric grid, Ameren Illinois has to make continual improvements in order to deliver reliable energy, day in and day out.

In 2011, the Illinois Legislature passed a bill that helped enable the utility to put into play a 10-year Modernization Action Plan (MAP). Ameren Illinois will be creating jobs and building a “smarter” grid to reduce outages.

Simantel developed “Focus Forward” as a way to communicate about how Ameren Illinois is looking ahead—undertaking thousands of infrastructure projects to make its customers’ service safer, more efficient and more reliable for the 21st century. This is a MAP that will get Illinois where we need to go.
